About Ghuman Sushil Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
Sushil runs his architecture practice from House 3425 in Sector 45-D. It is a home-based office situation, which makes the whole thing feel very grounded and approachable. You walk in and there is often the smell of coffee and a lot of paper spread out everywhere. We use the space to draw up plans for houses and other small buildings. Being in Sector 45-D, it is a bit more relaxed than being in the city center. We do not have any corporate branding or fancy receptionists waiting at the door. If the phone rings, one of us just picks it up. We spend a lot of time hunched over tables looking at tiny details on blueprints. It is work that takes a lot of patience. Sometimes clients come over and we sit around the main table to look at sketches together. It is a very informal atmosphere. We find that being in a house makes it easier to talk about building homes for other people. There is always some project or another half-finished on the computer screen. We keep busy with local work, mostly helping people navigate the building process. It isn't always exciting, but it is what we do. The office is crowded with books on design and old project files tucked into every corner. It feels like a real workspace. We do not try to impress anyone with the decor; we just focus on the drawings.
