About Bindra Preeti Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
My office is on the first floor of House No.3814 in Sector -32-D. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it stays fairly quiet, which I appreciate when I’m trying to draw. I started this practice because I wanted to work on things my own way. The space is filled with physical models, rolls of paper, and way too many pens. I spend a lot of time sketching out ideas before I even touch the computer. The windows look out over the street, and I often see the same people walking their dogs or heading to the market. It’s a nice way to feel connected to the community. I don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. People usually hear about me from their neighbors or friends. We sit down in the small seating area I’ve set up and just talk about what they want their home to look like. Sometimes the ideas are simple, and sometimes they’re a bit more complicated than the budget allows. I try to be realistic about what we can do. The stairs up to the office are a bit steep, but once you’re here, it’s a comfortable place to work. I’ve got a shelf full of old architectural journals that I still look through for inspiration. It’s not a fancy corporate firm, just me working through one project at a time and trying to do a decent job for the people in the sector.
