About Bhatia Tarunpreet Singh Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Chandigarh
I’ve been running things out of House No.2105 in Sector 38/C for some time. It’s a quiet area, which is good when you need to focus on a complicated set of plans. The office is basically just a room filled with rolls of tracing paper and a few computers that hum a bit too loudly. Working as an architect here means a lot of hours spent staring at lines and hoping the measurements are spot on. I don't have a big staff or a fancy reception desk. It’s usually just me and the sound of the ceiling fan. Sometimes my neighbors pop in to ask for advice on a wall they want to knock down or a leak in their roof. It’s nice being part of the sector like this. The porch outside gets a lot of sun in the morning, so I usually take my first cup of tea out there before the emails start coming in. There’s always a pile of books on the table that I mean to get through, mostly about old building techniques. I’ve lived and worked in this house for years, so the line between work and home is pretty thin. It’s not the most modern space, but it has everything I need to get the drawings finished. I find that people appreciate the directness of how I work. No big presentations, just some honest talk about what can be built and what can't.
