You can find us at Ram Bali Singh’s place in Nakahara, which is part of the Chunar area. The company is called Radhikamoyi Bio Energy Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s a long name for what is basically a group of us trying to do something useful with what’s left over from the crops. We are interested in bio energy, but we look at it from a very practical perspective. It’s about taking what the land gives us and making sure nothing goes to waste. Chunar is a beautiful place, and we’re glad to be working here. The office, if you can call it that, is just a room where we keep our files and meet with the local farmers. We talk a lot about how to improve things and what kind of waste we can turn into something better. It’s not always easy because the technology can be expensive and hard to understand at first. But we take it one step at a time. We’re not experts with degrees; we’re just people who have worked the land and see a better way to do things. It takes a lot of patience and a lot of trial and error. Some days we feel like we’re getting nowhere, but then something clicks and it makes sense again. That is just how it goes when you try something new.
