Chakia Vegetables Farmers Producer

We are located in Palpur village, which is part of the Saidupur area in the Chakia block. Ghurhoo Ansari is the person you usually see when you stop by. Since we are in Chandauli, we deal with a lot of vegetables. That is what most people around here grow. Our office is just a simple room where we coordinate the vegetable picks and the trucks. It is a very busy place in the early mornings because that is when the produce has to move. If you come by in the afternoon, it might be very quiet because everyone is out in the fields or resting from the morning rush. We don't have a lot of money to spend on fancy things, so everything is very basic. We use what we have to keep the vegetables fresh and get them to the market. It is hard work and the prices for things like tomatoes and greens can change every hour. We just try to keep up with it as a group. It is better than being alone when the market crashes. We are all neighbors here and we have known each other for years. We don't need a mission statement to know that we have to help each other out. We just do it because that is how things are done in Palpur. It is a simple life centered around the crops and the seasons.
