You can find us at 185, DDA Office Complex in Jhandewalan. Being in a government-built complex means the hallways are wide and the ceilings are high. Surjit Handicrafts is tucked into one of these units, and it has a very different feel than a market shop. There are a lot of other offices around us, so the vibe is mostly professional and quiet during the day. We have large windows that look out onto the parking lot and the other blocks. It gets a bit grey in the winter, but it is a solid place to work. We have stacks of handicrafts piled up against the walls because we never seem to have enough storage. The floor is that old grey stone that stays cold even in the summer. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or checking on deliveries. It is not the kind of place where random people walk in off the street. Most of the people who come here are here for business. We have an old sofa in the corner for guests, but it has seen better days. Usually, we are too busy to sit much anyway. Jhandewalan is a central spot, so it is easy for the transport trucks to reach us. We just keep things moving, day in and day out, making sure the paperwork matches the boxes we are sending out.
