We are located at No. 6571 in Nabi Kareem, which is part of the Paharganj area. Hand Loom & Handicrafts Exports has been in this spot for quite a long time. If you know Paharganj, you know it is narrow lanes and a lot of noise. Our place is full of fabrics, wooden items, and all sorts of things we get ready for export. It’s a bit dusty and there are boxes stacked up to the ceiling sometimes. We have people working on different things in different corners of the room. It isn't a clean, white-walled showroom. It’s a workshop and a warehouse mixed together. We spend our days checking the quality of the hand-made goods and packing them up so they don't break during transit. The lanes outside are too small for big trucks, so we have to use small carts to move stuff to the main road. It’s a lot of manual work and sweating. We don't have a fancy logo or a marketing team. We just know the people who make the crafts and the people who want to buy them. Every piece is a bit different because it’s made by hand. We like it that way. It keeps the work interesting. Sometimes we drink tea with the neighbors while waiting for a shipment to arrive. It’s just a normal day in a busy market where things are always moving.
