About Shri Hemkund Exports – Art & Craft in Central Delhi
If you have ever been to Karol Bagh, you know how crowded it gets, especially around Tank Road. Our place, Shri Hemkund Exports, is tucked away at H-16/102 on Street Number 3. It is a narrow street where there is always someone moving something on a cart or a scooter trying to squeeze past. The building itself is quite old and has that lived-in feel you find in most of Karol Bagh. We spend most of our daylight hours here, surrounded by the sounds of the market. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with all the shouting and the traffic nearby, but we have gotten used to it over the years. Shri Hemkund Exports is basically just a few rooms where we keep our stuff and handle the orders. There is no air conditioning in the hallways, so the summer months can be a bit of a sweat, but we manage with the fans. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The tea stall on the corner of Street Number 3 is where we usually get it from. It is not a glamorous setup, just a hard-working space in a busy part of the city. We try to keep the desk tidy, but with all the papers and samples lying around, it is usually a bit of a mess. That is just how we operate at H-16/102. We are just here doing our job, and we stay pretty busy with the daily routine of the street.
