Saurbhanchal Handicrafts

The office at 2/38 Ansari Road is not very large, but it serves us well enough for what we do. Darya Ganj is a busy area, mostly known for books, but we have been tucked away here with Saurbhanchal Handicrafts for a good bit of time. The street outside is always full of people moving things on carts. Our space is usually cluttered with boxes and half-packed crates. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just some sturdy tables and a few chairs that have seen better days. The walls are lined with samples and some old records we haven't moved in years. It gets pretty loud during the day with all the commercial activity on Ansari Road. We usually start the day early before the traffic gets too bad. Someone is always checking the inventory or talking to the suppliers on the phone. The air is a bit heavy with the smell of old paper and the wood from the crates. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't really have a showroom, so it's mostly about the logistics of moving the handicrafts around. In the winter, it’s actually quite nice, but the summers are tough without the big fans running all the time. We know most of the people on this block, and it feels like a little community even with all the chaos. We are just here doing our job at 2/38.
