You can find us at 206, Kiran Mansion, which is tucked away on Ansari Road in Darya Ganj. If you know Darya Ganj, you know how packed the streets get with people, cars, and book sellers. Kiran Mansion is an older building, and our office has that classic Old Delhi feel to it. The walls are thick, and the hallways are narrow. We have desks piled high with ledgers and invoices because we do a lot of distribution work from this spot. It’s a bit of a maze getting up to our floor, but once you’re inside, it’s a beehive of activity. We have phones ringing and people coming in to drop off samples or pick up orders. Space is at a premium, so every corner is used for storing something. We don’t have fancy furniture; just sturdy wooden tables and chairs that have been around as long as the business has. The windows are usually shut to keep out the noise and the heat from the street below. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business, and we’re on a first-name basis with the couriers and the neighbors. It’s busy, a little bit cramped, and always loud, but that is just the character of working in this part of the city every day.
