Bloom Handicrafts

Bloom Handicrafts is tucked away in Karol Bagh. If you know anything about this part of Delhi, you know it’s always crowded and full of energy. We work out of a space here where we handle all sorts of handcrafted items. It’s not a polished showroom like you might find in a mall. It’s more of a workspace where things are being packed, sorted, and sometimes finished. There is usually a bit of dust and plenty of boxes piled up. We deal with local artisans and try to get their work out to people who appreciate it. Karol Bagh is the perfect place for us because there’s so much trade happening all the time. We don't spend much on advertising or anything like that. Most of our business comes from people who know us or find us through word of mouth. We might be checking the quality of a batch of carvings one day and then boxing up textiles the next. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping track of inventory. The streets outside are always noisy with rickshaws and shoppers, but inside we just focus on the items we have. We aren't a big factory; we just like the stuff that’s made by hand. It has more character that way. If you’re in the neighborhood, it’s quite an experience just to see how much goes on in these small streets.
