International Jewellery Works

If you know Dharampura, you know how narrow the lanes can get near Dariba Kalan. That’s where you’ll find International Jewellery Works at Shop No. 2546. It’s a small space, but we’ve made it work for us for quite some time. The area is always crowded with people looking for jewellery, so there’s a lot of energy outside our door. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, though you can still hear the rikshaws and the shouting from the main path. We do things the old way mostly. A lot of our tools have been used for years and they still work better than the new stuff sometimes. We don’t have a big fancy storefront with neon lights or anything. Just a solid door and the work we do inside. It gets hot in the summer, especially back in the workshop area, but we’ve got a fan that helps a bit. People come to us because they know we’ve been here and we don’t try to be something we aren't. We talk to our neighbors, share some snacks, and keep the shop open until late. It’s a long day usually. Sometimes we run out of space to put things, so the counters get a bit cluttered. It’s a real place with real people working hard. We like being part of this old market. It feels right. We don't plan on moving anywhere else anytime soon and just keep at it.
