Dashmesh Arts India Ltd. is right in the thick of it at 10415-Bagichi Pirji, Subzi Mandi. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s crowded and loud and full of energy. Our building is old, and it shows its age in the cracks in the walls and the narrow staircases. We’ve been here for a long time, and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The smell of the vegetable market is always present, which is just part of the daily experience for us. Inside, our workspace is dedicated to the arts and production. It’s not a clean, white office like you see on TV. There are tools and materials scattered around because we are actually making things. We don't have a marketing team or people to write nice things about us. We just rely on the work we do. The staff here is more like a family than employees. We’ve seen each other’s kids grow up. Lunch is usually a shared affair where we sit around and talk about everything except work. It’s a very humble way of doing things. We don’t have fancy titles or corporate hierarchies. Everyone knows what they need to do, and we just get on with it. It can get very hot in the summer, but the ceiling fans keep us going. It’s an honest, hard-working environment in one of Delhi’s oldest neighborhoods. We just keep our heads down and focus on the craft.
