Gousia Akber Handicrafts

Gousia Akber Handicrafts is located at 4786, Main Bazar, Paharganj. If you know the Main Bazar, you know it’s a constant rush of people, cows, and motorbikes. Our shop is right in the middle of all that noise. We have handicrafts piled up everywhere you look. Some things are hanging from the ceiling and others are just tucked under the tables because we ran out of shelf space years ago. It’s a bit of a chaotic way to run a business, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the travelers who stop by to look at the carvings and the fabrics. The air is always full of smoke from the street food stalls nearby, which isn't great for the fabrics, so we have to keep everything covered with plastic sheets most of the time. It gets very hot in the summer, and our old cooler doesn't do much except make a lot of noise. But we like being in the center of things. You see all sorts of people from all over the world just by sitting on the bench outside the front door. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything. We just keep doing what we've always done, day in and day out, in this little corner of the market.
