Goel Cottage Craft

Goel Cottage Craft is right in the middle of the madness in Paharganj. If you know Chuna Mandi, you know it’s always crowded. Our shop is at 1703, Pratap Steet. It’s a narrow place filled with all sorts of crafts. We have carvings, fabrics, and small trinkets everywhere. Sometimes it’s hard to walk through the aisles because we have so much stock. We've been in this spot for years, and the street outside never seems to get any quieter. It’s a lot of work keeping everything dusted and organized. We don't have a fancy display window. We just put things where they fit. People come in from all over, mostly tourists or locals looking for something specific. We do our own packing in the back, usually with lots of newspaper and tape. It can get a bit dusty with all the wood and stone around. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique. It’s just a craft shop where we sell what we have. Some days are slow, and we just sit outside and watch the people go by. Other days, we can barely keep up with the customers. It’s just a regular part of the market here. We know the other shopkeepers on Pratap Steet well. It’s a busy life, but it works for us. We keep the doors open late most nights because that's when the street really comes alive. It's a bit messy, but it's our shop and we like the energy.
