Ganpati Handicrafts

We are over in Darya Ganj at 22, P. Deep. If you know the area, you know it’s always busy with traffic and people moving about. Our place, Ganpati Handicrafts, is right in the thick of it. The building isn't brand new, but it’s sturdy and has a lot of character. We have shelves lined with all sorts of things we’ve collected over time. It can get a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. The light comes in through the front windows in the morning and makes the dust motes dance. It’s a pretty sight if you have a moment to stop and look. Darya Ganj has a specific rhythm to it. Sundays are different because of the book market nearby, but the rest of the week is just standard business. We spend a lot of time packing things into boxes or unpacking new arrivals. Our hands usually have a bit of dirt on them by the end of the day. We don't wear suits or anything like that. It's just casual clothes that we don't mind getting a bit messy. The tea man comes by twice a day, and we always look forward to that break. It’s a simple operation here at P. Deep. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the shelves are full. It's a good place to work and the years have gone by fast. We stay until the evening.
