Delhi Jal Board (Djb)

If you are looking for us, we are over in Room 306 at Varunalaya Phase II. That’s right in the Jhandewalan area, not far from Karol Bagh. It is a government building, so it has that specific feel to it—lots of files, people coming in with questions about their water connections, and the general buzz of a city office. Dealing with water for a city as big as Delhi is a massive task, and this is one of the spots where the coordination happens. The hallways can be a bit confusing if you aren’t used to them. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and maintenance schedules. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where the staff tries to keep things moving. Some mornings the tea stall nearby is the busiest place around before everyone gets to their desks. We handle a lot of paperwork here. It is about keeping the pipes running and the water flowing to different neighborhoods. People come here when they have issues or need new permits. It is mostly just hard work and trying to keep up with the demands of the public. The building itself has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. We are right in the middle of a very busy part of town, so there is always noise from the street. It’s just the way it is working for the Delhi Jal Board. It is a lot of responsibility to handle every day.
