Banaras Handicraft

If you walk into the Main Bazar in Pahar Ganj and head towards the 6 Tooti Chowk, you will find us at number 4929. Banaras Handicraft is right in the thick of it. This part of Delhi is always crowded, loud, and full of energy. There are people from all over the world walking past our door every single minute. Our shop is small and packed with items from floor to ceiling. It is a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. We spend our days tidying up the shelves and talking to anyone who wanders in. Pahar Ganj is a crazy place, but we like the chaos. We have been here at the chowk for a long time, so we have seen the neighborhood change a lot. We do not have a fancy business plan or a big marketing budget. We just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes by. Sometimes we stand out front just to get a bit of air. It is not always easy with the noise and the heat, but it is our home. We keep things simple and just try to be honest with everyone who walks through the door. It is a real local business, nothing more and nothing less. We usually stay open late because the market never really sleeps, and there is always someone looking for a little something to take back home with them.
