Akriti Jewellers

We are over in Dayanand Colony, at B-76, right in the Lajpat Nagar area. It’s a residential spot but still very close to the main markets. Akriti Jewellers is just a small place we’ve run for quite some time now. We don't have the big windows or the security guards you see at the malls. It’s just a simple door and a few counters inside. Most of our day is spent talking to neighbors or people who live a few streets away. They come in to get things fixed or to buy something small for a birthday. We don't have a huge collection on display because we prefer to keep things simple. If someone wants something specific, we usually have to order it or make it. The shop can get a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, so we are always wiping things down. We don't use any fancy sales talk. If we don't have something, we just say so. We have an old wall clock that ticks very loudly when the shop is empty. We usually close up for a bit in the afternoon to have a nap or some food. It’s a quiet way to run a business. We like being in the colony because it’s familiar and we don't have to deal with the madness of the main road.
