Our company is Dubrajpur Jana Kalyan Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are located at Asim Bagdi’s place in Punglapurlakshminarayanpur, which is in Dubrajpur. It is a long name, but we are just a simple group of farmers. We wanted to have a way to help everyone in the village get better results from their crops. There are quite a few of us involved in the group now. We do not have a fancy office or anything like that. Most of our meetings happen outside in the shade or at someone's house when it's raining. We talk about what seeds to use and how to deal with pests that bother the plants. It is not a corporate thing at all; it is just neighbors helping neighbors. Dubrajpur is our home, and we really care about the land here. We grow all sorts of things, mostly whatever happens to be in season. It is hard work and the days are very long, but it is what we have always done. We do not really have a big plan other than keeping our small farms going. We do not use marketing tricks or try to sound like a big business. We are just the people you see every day on the old tractors or in the fields. This company is our way of making sure we can stay in business as farmers. It is a practical setup for local people, and that is about it. We are just doing our best.
