The Jain International School

The Jain International School is located out on Mungeli Road in the Sakri area of Bilaspur. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city center, which means it’s a lot quieter than the schools located right in the middle of the markets. The campus sits on a decent piece of land in Chhattisgarh, so there is plenty of space for the buildings and some ground for the students to walk around. Mornings here start with the sound of the buses coming down the road from Bilaspur. The air is usually a bit clearer out here in Sakri. Inside the school, things are pretty standard. We have the usual rows of desks and whiteboards. The staff is quite a mix of people, some who live nearby and others who travel quite a distance every day. We don't really have a lot of high-tech gadgets in every corner; it’s more about the teachers sitting down with the students and going through the chapters. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the boundary walls, which the kids find funny. The cafeteria serves basic food and the water coolers are always busy during the breaks. It’s just a place of learning where the days go by fairly slowly. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s a big building on a long road, and we just keep the doors open for anyone who needs to be here for their education. It's a simple, honest routine for us all.
