Shri Shivchanda Farmer Producer Company Limited

We started Shri Shivchanda Farmer Producer Company Limited over in Lalpur. It's mostly just us farmers from around Kulgadhi trying to get things organized. You can find us at Anoop Kumar Tiwari’s house if you’re looking. Farming is hard work and doing it alone doesn't always make sense when the markets change so fast. We spend our days out in the fields and then come together to figure out the seeds or how to sell what we grow without losing money. It's not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a group of people who know the soil here and have worked it for years. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when it should and other times the prices are just bad, so having this company helps us stay afloat. We deal with the crops we've always grown in this part of the world. It’s practical stuff. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We just want to make sure the families here in the village have a bit more stability than they used to. If you walk past Anoop’s place, you’ll probably see a few of us sitting around talking about the next harvest or complaining about the pests and the heat. That is just how it is here. We keep the books as best we can and try to help each other out when things get tough on the farm. It’s a simple way of working but it works for us. We don't use fancy words, we just talk about the land.
