We’re based in Bhubaneswar, out in I.R.C. Village, which is part of the Nayapalli area. Our office is at Plot No- 1489. It’s a quiet enough street, though it gets busy during the morning and evening hours. The office itself is just a regular building where we spend most of our time. We’ve got Debashis Satpathy managing things here. It's a very hands-on kind of place. You won't find any glossy brochures or sales pitches when you come through the door. Instead, you'll see us working on plans and talking to contractors on the phone. We’ve been in Orissa for a long time and understand how things work here. Venkataramanan Associates is really just about getting the job done. We have a lot of maps and charts on the walls, and the coffee machine is probably the most used thing in the room. We like being in Nayapalli because it's central for us to get to different parts of the city. Sometimes we have to head out to sites, so the office is empty for a bit, but there’s usually someone around to answer the door. It’s not a fancy corporate environment. It’s more of a workshop feel where real work happens. We take our tasks seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. It’s just a group of us trying to make sure every project we take on is handled the right way without any fuss or unnecessary complications. That's just how we do things here.
