Satya Damodar Catering Service

Our service, Satya Damodar Catering Service, is run out of Bishnupriya Apartment in Salia Sahi, Jaydev Vihar. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a catering business since it is an apartment building, but we make it work. The kitchen is always busy, and we have to be careful not to bother the neighbors too much with the noise of the grinders. Jaydev Vihar is a central area, so it's easy for us to get to different parts of the city. We don't have a big team of waiters or managers. It is mostly just family and a few helpers who live nearby. We do a lot of the prep work on the floor because there isn't enough counter space. It’s a very practical, hands-on kind of job. We don't have a glossy brochure to show people. Usually, we just tell them what we cooked yesterday and they decide if they want the same thing. The heat in Salia Sahi can be brutal in May, and cooking over big flames doesn't help. We spend a lot of time cleaning up grease and making sure the water tanks are full. It is not a glamorous business, and we don't pretend it is. We just try to make sure the food tastes like home cooking and that we don't run out of rice before the guests are finished. It is just honest work done by real people.
