Pruitt Cancer Support Foundation

The Pruitt Cancer Support Foundation is located at 36 Peer Gate in the Kumharpura area of Bhopal. This is one of the older parts of the city, so the streets are narrow and always full of people. Our office is in a traditional building that has seen better days, but it serves our purpose just fine. We don’t have a lot of extra space. The main room is where we do almost everything, from taking phone calls to meeting with people who need support. It is a very busy environment. There is always the noise of the market and the traffic coming through the window. We have a few old computers and a lot of paper files stacked up on the shelves. It’s not the most organized-looking place, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a big marketing budget, so we just rely on people knowing where we are. We spend a lot of time talking to folks who come in off the street looking for help or information. It can be quite exhausting, so we make a lot of tea to keep ourselves going. The atmosphere is very informal and a bit cramped, but it feels right for being in the heart of Bhopal. We don't try to act like a big institution. We are just a small group of people working out of a crowded room in Peer Gate, doing what we can every single day.
