Association Of Indian Muslims

Our office for the Association Of Indian Muslims is at Shifa Manzil. It’s located in the Nakkarkhana area near Peergate. We are right in the heart of Malipura. This is an old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and there’s always something going on. Shifa Manzil has been our base for quite a while now. It’s an older building with a lot of character. You can hear the sounds of the market and the people walking by all day long. We work on various community matters from this small office. It’s mostly just a few rooms with cupboards full of old documents and a few tables. We don’t have an air conditioner, so we rely on the ceiling fans to keep us cool during the summer months. People from the neighborhood drop in to talk about local issues or to get help with some paperwork. We know most of the families around here by name. It’s a very close-knit community in Malipura. We don’t go in for anything flashy. Our focus is just on the day-to-day needs of the people who come to see us. Sometimes we have tea and sit around the table to discuss what needs to be done next. It’s a slow and steady kind of place, right here in the middle of the busy Peergate area. The front door is usually left open during office hours.
