Kahaniya Welfare Foundation

We are based out in Village Richeda, which is near Pipariya. To actually find us, you have to head towards Post Taron and ask around. It’s a more rural area, so things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. Kahaniya Welfare Foundation is really just a local effort started by Rajesh Purviya and a few of the rest of us here. We aren't working out of a glass building or a fancy office park. Our main space is just part of the village life. It involves a lot of walking around and talking to our neighbors in the fields or at their homes. We don't have fancy titles or a big board of directors sitting in some distant city. It’s just us. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough, especially after the heavy rain hits, but that’s just part of living in Richeda. We don’t have any money for big marketing or flyers, so most people hear about us through word of mouth. It’s a practical way to work. We deal with whatever problems the local folks are facing at the moment. It could be something with the crops or just helping someone figure out a government form. We don't pretend to be more than we are. We are just villagers trying to look out for each other. It’s honest work, even if it’s not always easy. We spend a lot of time just sitting and listening to stories. That’s how we know what's going on.
