Out here in Botad, near Bhavnagar, you can find us by the Aveta Gate. We are situated right behind Anand Hospital. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the big cities, but it still gets busy with people coming to the hospital or moving through the gate. We run Yadgaar Restaurant. It’s a small operation. We don't have a lot of staff, so we do most of the work ourselves. The building is simple and we don't have any big neon signs. Most people just know we are here because they pass by every day. We start the day early, around 6 or 7, to get the first batch of tea and snacks ready. Botad is the kind of place where people appreciate things being done the old way. We don't use any high-tech machines. Everything is done by hand. The tables are wooden and we’ve had them for years. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains really hard, but we manage. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy menus. We just provide a place for people to sit for a bit while they wait for their bus or after they visit someone at the hospital. It’s a modest life, running a restaurant in a place like this. We see the same faces every morning and it feels good to be a part of the local scene here behind Anand Hospital. It is just a plain, honest business.
