Jagruti Restaurant

You will find us on St Road in Palitana, right across from the main St bus stand. Being near the bus stand means we see a lot of people who are tired from traveling. Palitana is a special place with all the temples, and we get people from all over who are here for the pilgrimage. Our restaurant is not a big, fancy hall; it is just a regular place with enough tables for the crowd. We open early in the morning because the buses start running before the sun is even up. The noise of the engines and the conductors shouting is what we hear all day long. We do not have a lot of decorations on the walls, just the basic stuff that is needed to run a business. The kitchen is small but we make it work even when it gets really crowded in the afternoons. Sometimes we run out of certain items because the market was closed or the delivery did not come, but that is just how it is in a town like this. We serve simple meals to people who are usually in a hurry to catch their next ride. Our family has been doing this for a while, and we just take it one day at a time. It is a lot of hard work standing on your feet all day, but we are used to it. We are just a local spot helping travelers get a meal.
