Shree Muktalaxmi Mahila Vidhyalaya is on Cresent Road in the Krishna Nagar area of Bhavnagar. Our pin code is 364001. Being a girls' school, it’s got a bit of a specific routine. Cresent Road is a well-known spot, so it’s easy for the students to find us. The building is older, with that classic look you see in a lot of Bhavnagar. We have big windows and heavy doors that have been opened and closed thousands of times. It’s not a modern glass building by any means. There’s a lot of chatter in the mornings when the girls arrive and again in the afternoon when they leave. We don’t have a marketing department or anything polished like that. It’s just a few of us in the office making sure the registers are signed and the teachers have what they need. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just open the windows wider and keep going. It’s a very local institution. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers on Cresent Road quite well. We aren’t trying to be the most famous school in the world, just a reliable place for women in this part of town to get an education. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it the same way for a long time without needing much to change. On Saturdays, it is a bit quieter, but there is still plenty to do to keep the place running before Monday morning comes back around.
