Belur Vidhyalaya

You can find us on National Highway No 8 E, specifically along Viktar Road in Mahuva. This part of Bhavnagar is known for its agriculture, so the area around the school is quite open. The building sits a bit back from the main road, but you still get the noise from the highway traffic. It’s a plain structure, mostly concrete and brick, which is practical for the weather we get here. We spend a lot of time managing the grounds because the wind blows a lot of sand and dirt around. The staff comes in early, often before the sun is fully up, to get things ready for the students. We have a mix of ages here, so it’s always a bit chaotic when classes start or end. The office is small and usually piled with notebooks and attendance registers. We don’t have air conditioning, so we rely on the fans and the breeze coming through the windows. It’s a very local operation. Most of the people who work here live in Mahuva or the small settlements nearby. We know the families of the kids, which makes it feel a bit more like a community. There isn't anything flashy about the place. It's just a school where we try to keep things orderly and make sure the day goes by without too many problems. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the different wings of the building. We just do our best to stay organized despite the dust and the heat.
