If you go down to the Chitra GIDC area, you’ll find us at Plot No 161To164. We ended up taking a few plots because steel takes up a huge amount of space, and you can’t really cram it all into one small shed. Navyug Steel Industries has been operating out of this spot for a good while. The sound of metal hitting metal is something you never quite stop hearing, even during lunch breaks. It’s a heavy environment. Everything is made of iron or steel, and the floors are concrete that’s seen better days. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or expensive furniture for the front desk. Instead, we have heavy-duty racks and cranes to move the stock around. It’s a dirty job, and your hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. Chitra GIDC is a rugged place, and we fit right in with the rest of the industrial units. Sometimes the dust from the road gets inside, but we just sweep it out and keep moving. There’s no big philosophy behind what we do. We just get the steel cut or moved as needed. It’s a straightforward business. We have a small team, and everyone knows what they’re supposed to do without needing a lot of meetings. It’s just about getting through the pile of work waiting in the yard and making sure the loading happens before the sun goes down.
