Lati Bazar is where you can find us at Zubin Steel Marine Tech. It is a loud place because of all the metal being moved around all day. If you walk down the street, you will hear the sound of steel hitting steel. Our yard is usually quite full of materials and different parts for boats. It gets very dusty, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. People just walk in and talk to whoever is available. We spend a lot of time checking the inventory and making sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it feels like we are running out of space, but we always manage to fit one more thing in the corner. The workers here have been doing this for a long time. Their clothes are usually stained with grease or rust by the end of the shift. We have a small desk where we keep the records and the phone. It rings quite a bit, mostly people asking about specific steel sizes or marine parts. When it rains, the sound on the metal roof is so loud you can’t hear yourself think. We just stop for a bit and wait it out. It is hard work but it is what we know. Lati Bazar is a tough area but it suits the kind of work we do here.
