Pahadi Steel Industries

Pahadi Steel Industries is located at Plot 65 in the GIDC area. We are right across from Nani Khodiar, which is a spot most locals know pretty well. If you are driving through the estate, you can’t really miss the turn-off near the big tree. It’s a standard industrial plot, nothing too special to look at from the outside. We have been working out of this shed for a long time. Steel work is heavy and loud, so the GIDC is the right place for us to be. The sun hits the metal roof pretty hard in the afternoons, making it quite warm inside, but we are used to it by now. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or marketing. Most of our day is spent handling materials and making sure the machines are running like they should. Sometimes things break down and we have to fix them on the fly with whatever tools we have handy. It’s just how it goes here. There’s a tea stall not too far away where the guys go during breaks to get away from the noise of the grinders. The traffic near Nani Khodiar can get backed up in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to their plots. We’ve seen the area change over the years, more buildings going up and more people moving in. We just keep doing our thing at number sixty-five. It's a simple operation with a few honest workers trying to make a living.
