J .M. Architect

Our office is up on the second floor of S.C.O-20, right in the middle of Gole Market on The Mall. It's a busy spot, and there's always something going on downstairs. J.M. Architect has been operating out of this room for quite some time now. It’s not a huge place, but it fits our drawing boards and a couple of computers well enough. We don't spend much money on fancy decorations because we'd rather focus on the blueprints. Usually, you'll find us hunched over a table arguing about where a window should go. Architecture is a lot more paperwork than people think, and we spend plenty of hours filling out forms and talking to city officials. It can be frustrating when things get delayed, but we just take it as it comes. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot from our window over the years. Clients come in, sit on the old chairs we have, and tell us what they're looking for in a house or an office. We try our best to get those ideas onto paper without making it too complicated. Sometimes the printer jams right when we need it, or we run out of drafting tape, but we manage. It’s a simple operation here. No big corporate vibes, just a few people trying to make good buildings in a busy market.
