You’ll find Yem Tea Agency over on Kamanahalli Main Road, right near Oil Mill Road in Arvind Nagar, at number 20. Our place is basically a warehouse and a small counter where we handle all the tea orders. It always smells like dried tea leaves in here, which is something you get used to pretty fast after working a few days. We have bags and boxes stacked up nearly to the ceiling in every corner. It’s not a fancy tea shop where you sit and drink; it’s more about the heavy distribution side of things. We spend the whole day moving crates, checking orders, and talking to the delivery drivers who come and go through the gate. The floor is concrete and the walls are plain, just a functional space for a tea business. Arvind Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always noise coming in from the street outside. We’ve been operating from this location for a good while now. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and shifting the stock around to make room for new arrivals. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where we keep track of everything on paper ledgers. It’s a bit dusty and the lighting isn't the best, but it works fine for us. We just focus on getting the tea where it needs to go. It’s a simple operation run by a few of us who know the routine inside out. We just keep moving the bags and getting things done.
