Cafe Coffee Day

This particular spot for Cafe Coffee Day is tucked away on the ground floor over at Sri Krishna Layout. Being on 2nd Main and 1st Main Road means we see a lot of people passing by throughout the day. It’s a local Bangalore branch where things are pretty relaxed. The chairs have seen better days maybe, but they’re comfortable enough for a long sit. We spend our shifts making drinks and cleaning up tables after the morning rush is over. It’s not like those big corporate offices you see in pictures. It feels more like a neighborhood hangout. We know the students who come in to study for hours and the folks who just want a quick cup before heading to work. The street noise from outside filters in sometimes when the door opens. We have to keep an eye on the supplies and make sure the grinders are working right. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going. Most of the staff lives nearby, so we walk or take a short bus ride to get here. We don’t have big speeches about what we do. We just open the shutters in the morning, get the machines warmed up, and start the day. It’s a simple routine that works for us and the people who live around here in the layout. We like the familiar faces that pop in every single afternoon.
