Vimpy Bag House

You can find us over at Shivananda Circle, right on Hare Krishna Road. Vimpy Bag House is the kind of place where you’ll see bags hanging from the ceiling and piled up on the floor. It’s 177/4, just a short walk from the main Rajajinagar area. High Grounds can be a bit noisy with all the traffic passing through the circle, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of horns by now. We spend most of our time fixing zips or helping people find a bag that will last them more than a month. It’s mostly school bags, travel bags, and those big sacks people use for moving. The sewing machine in the corner is always running. It’s an old machine but it works better than the new ones we tried. Sometimes the thread gets tangled and we spend ten minutes cursing under our breath while we fix it. The shop isn't very big, so when three or four customers come in at once, it feels very full. We’ve got a small bench outside where we sit when things are quiet. It’s good to watch the world go by. We don't do much advertising; people just know we're here. We close up when it gets dark and the streetlights come on. It’s a steady rhythm we’ve had for years. Just bags and more bags every single day in this little shop.
