Vignnesh City Taxi operates from 33/5 Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar. We have been in this spot for a good while now. Our office is just a small room where we keep track of the drivers and the cars. It’s a busy life because the phone starts ringing early in the morning and doesn’t really stop until late at night. R.T. Nagar is a good place to be based because it’s easy to get to different parts of the city from here. The building at 33/5 isn’t anything special, just a place for us to park a few cars and have a desk to work at. We don’t have any fancy technology or big corporate systems. It’s mostly just us writing things down in a logbook and talking to the drivers over the radio or phone. Sometimes the cars need repairs, so we spend time dealing with mechanics nearby. The neighborhood is full of regular houses and small businesses like ours. We don’t try to pretend to be a huge company. We are just local people trying to provide a way for others to get around the city. There’s always a lot of coffee being drunk in the office to stay awake during the long shifts. We just take the calls as they come and try to send a car out as quickly as we can. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We just keep the cars running and the drivers moving.
