Vetril Engineering Co. is based at 547B in the IV Phase of the Peenya Industrial Area. Anyone who knows Bangalore knows that Peenya is a massive place, and it’s easy to get lost if you don't know the landmarks. Our unit is tucked away among hundreds of others just like it. The air around here is always thick with the sound of industrial fans and heavy machinery. We have a decent-sized floor at 547B where we keep our tools and the bigger equipment. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but we like being in this part of the phase. The guys usually start early before the sun gets too high because the roof is made of corrugated sheets and it can get pretty warm inside by noon. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address painted on the wall. Most of our day is spent looking at technical drawings or standing over a lathe. It’s honest work, and we don't feel the need to dress it up. Sometimes the power goes out and we all just sit outside on the curb until it comes back on, talking about the cricket score or what’s for lunch. It’s just a standard engineering shop where we focus on the task at hand without any extra fuss or corporate nonsense. The workbench in the corner is older than some of the staff members but it's the sturdiest thing we own.
