Indian Engineering. Mes Road is where we spend most of our time. It’s a busy spot in Gokula Extension. We started here years back when things were quieter. Now there is a lot more traffic outside No.7. Inside, there is the smell of metal and oil. It’s what you expect from an engineering place. We have a few lathes and some other equipment that keeps us busy from morning till evening. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out and get back to work. Our team is small. Most of us have been here for a long time. We know the machines better than we know our own cars. People drop by with all sorts of metal parts that need fixing or making. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk with some old ledgers and a fan that squeaks. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer months. We usually take a tea break around four o'clock when the sun starts to move. It is a simple setup on H L. 40. We just do the work that comes in through the door. Some days are packed and others are a bit slower. That is just how it goes with a small shop like this. We like it here because everyone knows us on the road. It feels like home after all these years of working with the same tools.
