Vaishnavi Textile Prints

Our place is down in Singasandra, just off Hosur Road. We are on the 5th Main Road at number 13. If you’ve been around this part of Bangalore, you know it’s a mix of factories and houses. We do textile printing under the name Vaishnavi Textile Prints. It’s mostly about the machines and the ink. There's always a smell of dye in the air here. We started small and stayed that way, focusing on getting the prints right on the fabric. It’s messy work. Sometimes the colors don't mix exactly how you think on the first try, so we spend a lot of time adjusting things. We aren't a big corporate setup with a reception desk. Usually, you’ll find us on the shop floor checking the screens or the rollers. We work with different types of cloth and different designs. People bring us their requirements and we see what we can do on the press. The rhythm of the machines is the background noise to our whole day. Hosur Road is always busy, but once you turn into the side streets of Singasandra, it gets a bit more manageable. We’ve got a small crew here. Most of us have been doing this for years. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on the printing and making sure the fabric looks okay before it goes out. It’s a simple operation, really. We just take it one batch at a time and see it through until the evening.
