Urban Solace Cafe For The Soul

We started Urban Solace Cafe For The Soul some years back right near Ulsoor lake. If you know the area, we are at Swastik Char Rasta, specifically Swastik Cross Road 32. It’s a busy corner but inside it usually feels okay. I remember when we first opened, the paint was still wet on the window sills and we didn't have half the chairs we have now. People mostly come in because they want a quiet spot to read or maybe grab a bite while they look at the street. We don’t do anything too fancy with the food. It’s just stuff we like to eat ourselves. The kitchen gets a bit cramped when it’s raining and everyone crowds inside at once. Ulsoor is a nice neighborhood though, and we’ve seen a lot of regulars grow up or move away over time. Sometimes we host things like poetry or music, and the room gets pretty full. There’s always someone working on a laptop or staring out at the traffic. The staff here has been around for a while, so we kind of know how people like their coffee without asking too much. We try to keep things simple and not change the menu every two weeks. It’s just a cafe where you can sit and not be bothered. Some people stay for hours and that’s fine with us. We just keep the lights on and the water running.
