Turuvekere Stores

If you are walking near JP Park in Vijayanagar, you might have seen our store on 2nd Cross. Turuvekere Stores is a local shop where we mostly just know everyone by their first name. It is on the 8th Main road, which stays pretty active all through the day. We have been here at number 290/13 for quite some time. It is a small place, packed with whatever people usually need for their homes. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped inside when more than three people are shopping at once. We don't have fancy lights or big signs. Usually, we are just busy stocking shelves or talking to the regulars who stop by after their walk in the park. The mornings are usually the busiest when everyone is getting things for breakfast. We get some sunlight through the front door in the afternoon, which makes it quite warm. Sometimes we run out of things, but we try to get them back in stock by the next day. It’s just me and a couple of others helping out. We like being in this part of Bangalore. It feels like a real community. You can usually find us sitting near the counter checking the lists. Sometimes the cat from next door comes in to sit. We don't mind. It's just a regular neighborhood store where things are simple and we know the locals. We aren't trying to do anything fancy, just selling groceries to the folks around here. The shelves are a bit crowded.
