Karuna Stores

Karuna Stores has been a fixture on Lavelle Road for a long time. Our address is 47/1, and if you know the area, you know it has changed a lot lately. There are all these high-end boutiques and fancy cafes popping up everywhere, but we just stay the way we are. The shop is a bit small, and we have stuff stacked up all the way to the ceiling. It can be a bit hard to find things sometimes, but usually, if you ask, one of us knows exactly which corner it’s hidden in. We get a mix of people coming in—some regular neighbors who have been living in the old bungalows for fifty years, and then the younger crowd who work in the new office buildings nearby. Lavelle Road is beautiful when the trees are in bloom, but the traffic can get quite annoying in the evenings. We usually keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze there is, though that also means we get a lot of dust from the road. We aren't big on advertising or having a big sign outside. Most people find us because they were walking by or their parents told them to come here. It’s a simple life, opening up in the morning, stocking the shelves, and chatting with whoever walks in. We don't have a computer system for everything; a lot of things are still written down in a notebook because it's easier that way.
