The Juice Shop

Our little place is called The Juice Shop and we are at 74-9-12 on the 3rd Cross in Kalyan Nagar. It’s a nice enough street, mostly houses and some other small shops around us. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a small counter where we spend the day peeling fruit and running the blenders. The noise of the machines is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives. We have a lot of crates of oranges and pineapples stacked up in the corner. It smells like citrus most of the time, which is better than most jobs, I guess. We get a lot of people from the neighborhood stopping by on their way to work or after they’ve been to the gym. We don't have a big menu with fancy names, just the fruit we have for the day. Sometimes the fruit isn't as good from the market, so we have to go out and find better stuff. That’s just part of the routine. The 3rd Cross can get a bit congested in the evenings with people parking their scooters everywhere. We just keep our heads down and keep the juice flowing. It’s a simple way to make a living. We’ve got a couple of small tables, but most people just stand around and talk while they wait. It’s a local spot and we like it that way. We just keep things clean and keep the fruit fresh.
