We have some desks, a few old computers, and crates of samples tucked into the corners. We deal with the logistics of getting drinks from the manufacturers to the shops. It involves a lot of phone calls and checking delivery schedules. Bangalore is a fast-paced city, but our office has its own slower rhythm. We spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and making sure the stock levels are right. Sometimes the shipments are late because of the city’s famous traffic, so we have to scramble to fix the schedule. We don’t have a huge team of experts. It’s just a few of us who know the beverage trade well. We don’t do big presentations or corporate retreats. We just make sure the crates go where they’re supposed to go. The building is a bit old, and the elevator sometimes acts up, so we take the stairs. It’s a simple business. We focus on the practical side of things, like making sure the bottles don’t break and the invoices are correct. It’s what we do every day and we’re used to the hustle.
