Sunitha Stained Glass Studio

If you head over to the 5th Block in Jayanagar, you will find us at No.133 on the 7th Main. It is a studio where we spend most of our hours working with different kinds of colored glass. Stained glass is a very slow business; you really cannot rush it if you want it to look right. There are always scraps of glass on the tables and the smell of solder in the air. Sunitha started this place because she liked the way light looks through colored glass, and we have just kept it going since then. It is a bit messy in here, to be honest. We have crates of glass leaning against the walls and sketches pinned up everywhere. People stop by when they want something specific for a window or a door in their home. We do not have a big sales pitch or a fancy showroom. Usually, we just show them what we are currently working on and talk about what might work for their specific space. Jayanagar is a nice area, a bit calmer than the city center, which helps when you are trying to focus on small details. Sometimes a piece breaks right at the end and we have to start over, which is frustrating, but that is just how it goes with glass. It is just a few of us in the studio making things by hand.
