Sun Castings

Sun Castings has been operating out of unit 41 in the J.C. Industrial Estate for quite a while now. We are located down near Yelachenahalli, just off Kanakapura Road. The workshop is where everything happens. It’s hot work, dealing with metal and molds all day long. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to answer the phones with a script. Usually, someone just wipes their hands on a rag before picking up the call. We make various metal parts for different industries. It’s a lot of manual labor and making sure the sand molds are set up right. The floor is usually a bit messy with metal shavings and tools lying around. We aren't trying to be the biggest foundry out there. We just want to make parts that don't break. The guys here have been doing this for a long time, and they know the quirks of the furnaces. Kanakapura Road has changed a lot with the new shops, but our estate stays pretty much the same. It’s a place for people who like to make things with their hands. We just show up, do the pours, and get the orders ready for the trucks. It’s basic, hard work. There is always a layer of soot on the windows, but nobody really minds. We just keep the production going as best as we can every day. Most of us have been working together in this heat for years.
