Suma Coffee is over in Jayanagar, specifically in Vaishali Nagar. It’s a fairly quiet part of the area compared to the main markets. We’re at number 13. The mornings are usually the best time here. You can hear the birds and the sound of people starting their day in the houses nearby. We spend most of our time dealing with the coffee beans and making sure the machines are clean. It’s a small place, nothing too big. Some people come in every single morning at the exact same time. We know their names and how they like their drink without them having to say anything. The street outside is narrow, so it doesn't get too much heavy traffic, which is nice. We have some old wooden chairs and the floor is just regular tile. It feels like a home in some ways. We don't really do much advertising. People just find us because they live around here or they’re walking to the park. Sometimes we run out of things and have to run to the local store to pick up milk or sugar. It’s just how we run things. The smell of the coffee usually fills up the whole room by 7 AM. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us doing everything from taking orders to washing the cups. It’s a slow pace of life in this corner of Bangalore and we are quite used to it.
